Heinlein from the blog site Matte Havoc. The twenty- seventh installment of _The LAMBs in the Director's Chair_ will leave you straight tripping. The first movie I have ever watched that was directed by movie director Ken Russell was the cult classic _Altered States_ (1980) starring William Hurt, which I still pull from my DVD collection from time to time and watch it all over again. The film has not aged a bit for me. Ken Russell is a clear visionary with designing strong and powerful images in his films that will stick with the viewer long after viewing. In fact, the Norwegian band A-ha recreated the climactic scene from _Altered States_ in their music video for "Take On Me" (which you can view the music video by clicking here). I definitely recommend grabbing a copy of his films and making a marathon night of it.
